Photobooth Etc Goes Science & High-Tech at UCA
Saturday was very busy but also a bit nostalgic for us- having two events at our old alma mater UCA. First stop was to entertain the seriously entrepreneurial techies at BarCamp for their annual creative “un-conference” at the College of Business Building. We were pretty excited to be there with a lot of friends and similar-minded people who enjoy learning from each other. And we even made the local paper!
After a successful lunch there we headed across campus to the Lewis Science Center to play dress up with the 8th grade “Girls of Promise” sponsored by the Women’s Foundation of Central Arkansas. Girls of Promise program is a one-day conference designed to introduce eighth-grade girls to careers in economics, science, technology, engineering, and math. I spoke at the event last year (on mobile apps- what else?) and was thrilled to offer something a little more fun this time around. Much like the Cutter Morning Star Prom we did last weekend, these girls were really into the photo booth. Growing up in the generation of selfies, I would expect nothing less. Oh, and I finally found out what the “L” shape around the eye means- “super fierce”…
Both of these events are near and dear to our hearts and we were thrilled to be invited. Here, here to creative, scientific, technology minded people, that love to be silly in a photo booth!
